This Gigabit Ethernet expansion card option provides IBM eServer BladeCenter HS40 blade servers with two additional Gigabit ports using Intel-based NICs. This option increases capacity and allows for expansion of the Ethernet I/O subsystem, enabling additional bandwidth for connection to multiple LAN segments. It works in conjunction with any of the Ethernet switch modules (copper) or the Optical Pass-thru Module (optical).
