The new IBM Netbay 1U xSeries tape enclosure offers a cost effective solution for adding external tape drives to IBM 1U, 2U, and 3U rack optimized xSeries servers. The Netbay 1U tape enclosure supports one or two half-high tape drives. It allows each of these tape drives to be independently attached to a supported xSeries server, or both to be daisy chained to a single server.The Netbay 1U tape enclosure joins the 0034B0X Netbay 4U tape enclosure to provide a family of cost-effective rackmount tape enclosures for xSeries servers. The drive mounts directly to the enclosure and can be shared between two servers.This tape enclosure is a reliable product that offers customer flexibility to meet growing backup storage requirements in a rack configuration. It can support up to two internal Ultra80 or Ultra160 low-voltage differential (LVD) tape drives.
