The system alarm processor (SAP) card monitors the chassis, power supply modules, and fans. It reports real-time data to the system processing engine cards (SPEs).The SAP card features Front-panel LEDs, Console port for monitoring and managing the system through a directly connected PC or over a modem connection (9600 baud, maximum), two front-panel COM ports supporting connection to a legacy voice-mail system (SMDI systems only) and to a UPS, system fan control and monitoring capability, system temperature monitoring capability. The SAP card reports status and alarm conditions to the SPE, resets individual system cards or all system cards when required, reroutes data in the event of an SPE failure (in dual-SPE systems).
