The Cisco Route Processor Module Cisco (RPM) is a seamless integrated IP/MPLS services gateway for Cisco MGX 8000 Series Multiservice Switches leveraging industry leading Cisco IOS software. The Cisco RPM creates new and differentiated current services for ATM-based networks, such as voice over IP (VoIP) and IP-enabled Layer 2 service. The Cisco RPM also provides a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) control plane for emerging services and network architectures.
