The PXM45/B functions as the switch controller and provides 45 gigabits per second (Gbps) of non-blocking, shared memory switching, environmental monitoring (cabinet temperature, fan speed, and power supply voltages), and full 1:1 redundancy hot insert and hot removal from the chassis.
