Cisco offers two levels of modem management to customers, basic and managed modems. The basic modems offer a wealth of features, often beyond what is offered by the competition. The managed modems offer superior reporting and statistics, including the ability to troubleshoot and monitor modem connections on individual modems or groups of modems while calls are in progress.If you decide to utilize the managed modem features, you have to purchase the Modem Management Technology License appropriate to the number of modems being utilized. If the modem count exceeds a given quantity, you need to purchase the next higher quantity license.
