Cisco offers a variety of connectivity, expansion and upgrade options to accommodate the customer specific needs. Cisco's components are easily and inexpensively upgradeable as customer requirements change.The ATM Line Module A (ALM / A) provides an ATM UNI port that allows devices such as routers or ATM switches to support VPCs and VCCs across the IGX node. The ALM / A operates as a cell relay interface that supports basic connectivity to IGX interfaces or BPX ASI interfaces through a Cisco WAN switch network. The ALM / A supports ATM connections that terminate at either ATM or Frame Relay endpoints. With the processing that the IGX node provides, cells can cross either an ATM trunk or a FastPacket trunk.
