To continue to meet the increasing data bandwidth and interface needs, Cisco introduces the Cisco ONS 15454 E1000-2 Gigabit Ethernet card. The E1000-2 card enables users to interconnect data devices over a standards-based, reliable optical transport, the Cisco ONS 15454. The E1000-2 Gigabit Ethernet card can be coupled with the current E100T-12 10/100BASET card to build a robust data network, allowing traffic aggregation and bandwidth sharing or point-to-point circuit connectivity across a single platform.The E1000-2 Gigabit Ethernet card provides two GBIC compliant interface slots, enabling the user to select the type of optical interface for the application. The two GBICs currently supported are a SX 850 nm, short-reach multimode interface and the LX 1300 nm single-mode interface.
