The IBM 2-Port 10/100/1000 Base-TX Ethernet PCI-X Adapter is a full-duplex, dual-ported Gigabit Ethernet adapter with highly integrated components. It can run each port at 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps data rates. The adapter conforms to the IEEE 802.3ab 1000Base-T standard, which defines Gigabit Ethernet operation over distances up to 100 meters using four pairs of CAT-5 balanced copper cabling - the type of cabling within most buildings. The adapter interfaces to the system via either a PCI or PCI-X bus. This adapter also supports AIX Network Install Manager (NIM) operations that require a network boot.
