The new IBM 3590 high-capacity, high-performance SCSI-2 tape drive is supported in an automated tape library. This allows customers to automate their tape data handling with the latest technology. The ability to support the 3490 18-track (read only), 3490E 36-track, and 3590 technology in the same library offers customers a fast, convenient method to upgrade their tape data storage media.
