The Dell PERC 5/E RAID Controller Card is a PCI Express based serial attached SCSI RAID controller that provides optimum performance, data protection and scalability for external SAS RAID applications. With support for RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10, and 50, the PERC 5/E provides multiple protection options to suit a wide range of applications and non-critical data. It features a high-bandwidth x8 PCI-Express host interface, 256 MB DDR2 transportable battery backed cache, and 3Gbps SAS technology. It includes a powerful Intel IOP333 processor with XScale micro architecture along with a 256 MB DDR2 memory for read and write cache.
