The Catalyst 2926G models are new, high-performance members of the Catalyst 2926 Series of fixed configuration 10/100 autosensing switches with Gigabit Ethernet uplinks and Layer 3 services. The Catalyst 2926G delivers the added intelligence of multilayer NetFlow services plus the increased performance of Gigabit Ethernet uplinks in a fixed configuration, targeting the wiring closet.The Catalyst 2926G switch delivers award-winning Catalyst �5000 family performance in a compact chassis. The �Catalyst 2926G is a fixed-configuration, high-density, 10/100 autosensing Catalyst member that uses the same architecture and software as the Catalyst 5500/5000 Series. The switch can deliver more than one million packets-per-second (pps) throughput across a 1.2-Gbps media-independent backplane. The system provides multilayer switching with Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching plus network management. The system includes two full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet uplinks for redundant connections to switches, routers, and servers. The Catalyst 2926G chassis fits into a standard 19-inch rack, and all system components are accessible from the same side of the chassis. The chassis includes dual load-sharing, redundant power supplies (standard). A single supply can support the entire switch, making the system highly reliable. The Catalyst 2926G complements the entire Cisco Catalyst switch offering, allowing users to benefit from common Catalyst system software services and common network management applications.
